Well, if you’re wondering why you’re seeing so many bib “blue check” Twitter names that once supported (or pretended to) Trump, suddenly made a case for Stage 5 TDS and pushed hard for “DeSantis 2024” , we probably now know why. A few months ago DeSantis did a “meet and greet” with some big-name online right-wing influencers and media people to express their grief for him and get some more support online, as he and the GOP establishment and NeverTurmpers set A plan is underway to destroy Trump and Maga.

And right on cue, these online “influencers” changed their tune, began bashing President Trump and promoting DeSantis every chance they got.

Gee, how about “organic” and “natural,” exactly?

The Daily Mail covered the story:

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is meeting with conservative influencers at the governor’s mansion as his feud with former President Donald Trump continues to escalate.

Politico reports that DeSantis’ team has reached out to conservative media and online personalities to confront them with the Republican governor.

On Jan. 6, for example, DeSantis invited social media stars to a stop at the governor’s office in Tallahassee, dinner at the governor’s mansion and drinks at Level 8 Lounge, a popular rooftop bar near the Florida Statehouse, Politico said.

The group included Fox News Lisa Marie Booth, Turning Point USA’s Benny Johnson, Newsweek opinion editor Josh Hammer, The Rubin Report’s Dave Rubin, New York Post and FoxNews.com columnist Carol Markowicz, Claremont Institute fellow David Reboi, and conservative writers Jordan Schachel and John Cardillo.

Hammer shared photos of the group around DeSantis at his desk and at the bar with his press secretary, Christina Pusho.

Each of the DeSantis invitees has more than 95,000 Twitter followers — and several of them, including Rubin and Markowicz, recently moved from the blue state to Florida.

‘Thanks for dinner, @GovRonDeSantis,’ Rubin commented. ‘I am no longer an enemy of the state!’

Rubin moved from Los Angeles to Florida, and Markowicz fled to New York.

Pusha also downplayed the guests’ online notoriety, which the invitees told Politico have “consistently supported the governor’s pro-independence policies.”

He added that a governor who stands up for individual rights against federal tyranny is popular among conservatives.

As members of the group become cheerleaders for the Sunshine State, Riboi wrote a column for Newsweek on Monday that Florida has become ‘America’s New Texas,’ crediting DeSantis.

Amusing.

We now know, thanks to Laura Loomer, that DeSantis paid over $20K to Babylon Bee to make him look “funny.” Right after that, they came out and did something really weird and not at all funny that was condemning Trump and endorsing DeSantis. Many people thought it was painfully obvious what was going on.

I have no question, are these people paying big bucks to “support” DeSantis?

I would hope so, because many of them are losing their followers and reputations for trashing President Trump.
